BALLET

Ballet is a wonderful way to improve physical fitness and strength. In children it helps to aid their spatial awareness. It stimulates their listening skills, enhances their appreciation of music and builds their confidence. Children love to express themselves through dance and ballet is a joyous way to encourage expressive movement. Along the way, they usually even make new friends!

We teach fun and imaginative Baby Ballerinas (see below), Pre-School and RAD Grades & Vocational classes from age 2 years and up. Our classes follow the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance and students may be entered for their Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Examinations. The RAD is one of the world's largest and most influential dance training organisations. Our Ballet classes are taught by a fully qualified RAD teacher.

Commercial dance combines a mix of hip hop, street, jazz and the latest dance steps, choreographed to pop songs. This is a fun, high energy class, that’s great for boys and girls.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE

Unlike the structured nature of ballet, Contemporary dance concentrates on versatility, freedom of movement and using the weight of the body.

Contemporary dancers focus on floorwork, traveling through space, using gravity to pull them down to the floor as well as practicing choreographic phrases and exploring creative challenges and improvisations.

This dance genre is often done in bare feet and can be performed to many different styles of music.
